Placing The Walkboards
We built the walkboards out of treated lumber and use them to access the rows of garden crops, as well as to hold down the black plastic. They especially are helpful when it rains, as the plastic holds the rain in puddles, but the walkboards dry out rather quickly. We use two walkboards per row, each walkboard being 4’ long, making them easy and light to store and carry. Conventional gardens usually use a mulch as their walkways, but these can hide slugs and rodents, so we prefer the simple wood walkways.
