Crumble Pear Pie

1 unbaked 9 inch pastry shell
Filling:
6 medium Bartlett pears, pared
1-1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
Topping:
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 tbsp. butter or margarine

In a large bowl, slice pearsand then sprinkle pears with lemon juice. In another bowl, mix sugar, flour, and lemon peel; stir into sliced pears. Spoon into pastry lined pie plate. Mix together 1/2 c. flour, 1/2 c. sugar and cinnamon. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle on top of pie. Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes or until pears are tender. Remove from oven. Makes 8 servings. |
