Instructions:
1) Flip the painters pail with the bottom facing up. Drill a 1 hole into the center bottom of the pail.
2) Pound in the Shepards hook into the ground in a sunny location or attach some sort of hanger for the tomato plant to hang from. The pail will be heavy so find a sturdy place to hang your tomato.
3) Place the tomato plant through the hole in the bottom of the pail as shown in Illustration A.
4) Tip the pail over just enough that you dont crush the tomato sticking out of the bottom. Add garden soil into the top of the pail.
5) With the tomato coming out of bottom of pail, hang the pail by the handle onto the Shepards hook. Add more soil if needed. Give the tomato a good drink of water.
Optional:
1) To keep the moisture from evaporating from the soil you can put a lid on top. Just make sure to check under the lid every day if the tomato needs water.
2) Instead of a lid on top, you can plant small flowers, herbs or lettuce on the top of the pail. Make sure to check daily if the plants need water.
