Ray's Rabbit Trap Page 2

Drill 1/8 inch holes in trap bar and pin bar as shown in illustration E. Bend release bar as shown.

Creating The Trip Mechanism

Fasten pin bar to back of trap with screws. See illustration F. Cut slot in screen as shown, insert trip bar and loosely affix to pin bar using a bolt and nut. Attach spring from trip bar to pin bar.

Screw 2 eye screws into front center of trap. Solder or glue brass tubing to end of release bar, adding extra support. Attach release bar to trip bar.

Installing Trip Mechanism

Attach nails to hold food tray as shown in illustration G. Food tray is removable and is held in place by front nails.
Note: Do not paint food tray!

Making The Food Tray

Fabricate front as shown in illustration H. Make sure it slides up and down in notches in front rails. If using plywood or hardboard, protect with paint or sealer. Lubricate with silicone spray.

Making The Trap Door

Put carrots, lettuce leaves or cabbage leaves on food tray. Set trigger mechanism as shown in illustration H.
