Garden Ladder Trellis

Materials Needed: 4 pieces of wood, 1” x 2” x 5’ 8 hardwood dowels, 1/2” x 12” 2 hardwood dowel, 3/4” x 12” 1 hardwood dowel, 1/2” x 13 1/2” Saw Drill and drill bits Pencil Ruler Polyurethane glue Sandpaper Outside water based paint Brushes

Instructions:

1) Cut wood and dowels to the lengths given in the material list. Measure and mark the wood strips where the holes will be drilled. Drill five 1/2” holes and one 3/4” hole into each piece of wood as shown in Illustration A.

2) Using polyurethane glue, glue the ten 12” dowels into holes in wood strips as shown. Allow glue to dry overnight.

3) Now assemble both ladder pieces using 13 1/2” dowel to hold them together. Glue dowel into holes of one ladder piece only as shown in illustration B. Allow glue to dry overnight.

4) Sand corners and edges of wood. Then paint with outside paint and allow trellis to dry.
