*Starching: Prepare stiffening solution by one of the following ways:
1) Following manufactures instructions, mix a heavy solution of commercial starch.
2) Mix equal parts of white glue and water.
3) Use a commercial fabric stiffener, following the manufactures instructions.
Pour stiffening solution into a small plastic bag. Immerse heart into stiffening solution and squeeze to remove excess. Blot with a paper towel. Place on board covered with wax paper and if needed, pin along the edges shaping the heart as you go. Allow heart to dry completely before removing from wax paper.
Finishing: Cut an 8 piece of crochet thread or fishing line. Thread through center top of heart and tie ends into a slipknot. Cut a piece of ribbon 7 long. Tie into a bow. Glue or sew the bow onto the center top of heart. See photograph.
